Orléans is a city in north-central France, about 120 kilometres (74 mi) south of Paris. It is the capital of the Loiret department and of the Centre-Val de Loire region. It is located on the Loire River with an oceanic climate, similar to the rest of central France. (Source: wikipedia)

The conference will take place at "Hôtel Dupanloup", formerly the episcopal palace in the heart of the old town. Home of the bishops until 20th century, it now serves at the "Centre international universitaire pour la recherche". 

 

How to reach Orléans city from CDG airport:

 From CDG airport, take the RER B to "Gare du Nord" (Paris North Station -Paris Nord-). At the airport, follow the signs “Paris by train”. All trains go to Paris and you should buy your ticket from the machines beforehand (€ 13 one way).

At Gare du Nord change to the subway line 5 (direction "Place d’Italie") to "Gare d’Austerlitz". This is the departure station of trains to Orléans. You can buy your ticket either online (SNCF Connect) or at the Austerlitz station from the machines, it costs around € 20.

SNCF connect has a very practical smartphone app, which you can use to buy and store e-tickets as well as tickets to and from airports.

 

How to reach Orléans city from Orly airport:

Take the Metro line 14 until Gare de Lyon, then exit the station towards Rue de Bercy. You can then reach Gare d'Austerlitz after a 7-8 min short walk crossing the bridge (Pont Charles de Gaulle) between the two train stations.

Note that although Orly airport - Gare de Lyon is a subway trip, the price is € 13.

Important: Note that there are 2 train stations in Orléans: "Orléans" and "Les Aubrais" (3 km from the city center), both connected by a tramway line. In Gare d'Austerlitz you can take trains that go to either one of these stations. If you stop at "Les Aubrais" then you should take the tramway to the city (TAO). You can buy a tramway ticket at the Aubrais Gare (or use your contactless credit card in the tramway).

 

Hotels in Orléans

You can choose from many hotels available in and around Orléans. We suggest you choose one close to the city centre in order to be at a walking distance to the venue. However, should you choose to be around Orléans, bus and tramway services are available (TAO).
